Jaflong Tandoori opened its doors in 2008 with a simple mission: bring authentic Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine to Richmond, cooked with love and served with pride. Led by proprietor Syed, whose roots trace back to Sylhet, Bangladesh, we've grown from a small takeaway to a beloved community restaurant.

In 2008, Richmond's dining scene was changing, and Syed saw an opportunity to introduce the rich flavours of Bangladeshi and North Indian cooking — the kind his grandmother made in Sylhet, where spices were ground by hand and every dish told a story.

Over 18 years, Jaflong has become a Richmond staple. We've served over 50,000 customers, catered hundreds of weddings and corporate events, and welcomed sports teams, families, and food lovers through our doors. But what we're most proud of isn't just the food — it's the relationships we've built.

We're also proud to give back. From Ham Fair to supporting schools like Hollyfield, King Athelstan Primary, and Grey Court, to annual charity work in Syed's home village in Sylhet — community is at our core.
