Since 2008, Jaflong Tandoori has been more than a restaurant — we're a proud member of the Richmond community. From Ham Fair to school fundraisers, from local church partnerships to rebuilding homes in rural Bangladesh, giving back is at the heart of everything we do. Led by proprietor Syed, we believe success is measured not just in plates served, but in lives touched.

Giving Back to Our Roots: Sylhet, Bangladesh
Proprietor Syed's heritage is deeply rooted in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Every year, Jaflong Tandoori donates a portion of our profits to support Syed's home village and surrounding communities in Sylhet.
Our Annual Sylhet Support:
- Clothing drives — Winter clothing for elderly & children
- Food aid — Rice, lentils, cooking oil for 50+ families
- Housing support — Contributing to rebuilding homes damaged by floods
- Education — School supplies for village children
We partner with trusted local organisations in Sylhet to ensure every pound reaches those who need it most. This isn't just charity — it's honouring where we come from and lifting up the communities that shaped us.

Jaflong has been an independent food stall at Ham Fair since 2011. The fair is organised by the Ham and Petersham Association; we are not the organiser, sponsor or charity beneficiary — we serve fresh, affordable food on the day.
