Halal Catering in South West London: A Complete Guide for 2026

14 March 202610 min readBy Jaflong Tandoori Team

Booking halal catering should be simple — but in practice it often isn't. Caterers vary on what "halal" actually means in their kitchen, how mixed-dietary groups are handled, and how transparent the certification is. This guide is the one we wish more clients had before they called us.

What "Halal" Should Actually Mean

True halal catering means three things: all meat is sourced from certified suppliers (halal is the gold standard), the kitchen does not process non-halal ingredients alongside halal ones, and a certificate can be provided on request. At Jaflong, our entire operation has sourced halal meat from trusted halal suppliers since 2008 — there is no parallel non-halal line.

Where We Cater Across South West London

Regular catering routes include Richmond, Twickenham, Teddington, Kingston, Kew, and Ham. We also reach Wimbledon, Putney, Hampton, East Sheen and Barnes — call us if you're unsure about your postcode.

Packages and Pricing

  • Bronze — bespoke quote: 2 starters, 3 mains, rice, naan, salad. Ideal for casual office lunches and family gatherings.
  • Silver — bespoke quote: 3 starters, 4 mains, biryani, sides, dessert. The most-booked package for milestone birthdays and engagement parties.
  • Gold — bespoke quote: Premium tandoori platters, signature curries, full sides, dessert station. The default for weddings and corporate galas.
  • Bespoke: Built around your headcount, venue and dietary brief.

Catering for Mixed Dietary Groups

Because our kitchen is trusted halal suppliers AND nut-free, the usual catering headaches (will the kosher guest be okay? what about the allergy mum?) shrink dramatically. We clearly label vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options on every menu so guests can self-serve confidently.

Eid, Weddings, Funerals and Corporate

Each event type has its own rhythm. Eid catering peaks around fixed dates and books out 2-3 months ahead. Wedding catering needs early consultation on portion volumes and timing. Funeral/wake catering needs sensitivity and same-week turnaround — see our funeral catering guide. Corporate catering needs invoicing and reliable arrival windows.

How to Brief Your Caterer

  1. Confirmed headcount (and a max upper bound)
  2. Venue postcode and access notes (lifts, parking, time windows)
  3. Service style: drop-off, buffet setup, or full service
  4. Dietary breakdown — vegetarian, vegan, GF, allergies
  5. Spice tolerance of the group (we default to medium)
  6. Budget per head and any non-negotiables (e.g. lamb biryani required)
