Race day menu, delivery hours and drop-off points
Everything a crew, club or supporter group needs to eat well at the Great River Race finish: when we deliver, where we drop off, and what goes in the trays.
Race day delivery hours
Race afternoon — pre-booked drop-offs
Crew trays can be dropped at Thames Young Mariners, Ham House or a Ham address during the afternoon, but only when the order is phoned through in advance so the kitchen can time it.
From 4pm — normal delivery and collection
Our regular service opens at 4pm across Ham, Petersham, Richmond, Richmond Hill and Kingston-side addresses.
Until 11pm — Friday and Saturday
Race Saturday runs to 11pm, so late crews still eat. Sunday to Thursday we close at 10:30pm.
Collection orders placed direct with us receive 10% off, and delivery orders over £40 get £5 off.
Catering drop-off points
Thames Young Mariners, Riverside Drive, Ham TW10 7RX
The main race-weekend campsite. Our drivers know the entrance — give us a crew name and a phone number and we hand the trays over at the gate or the car park.
Ham House riverside (finish area)
Meet-the-driver drop-off on Ham Street or the Ham House car park side. Best for supporter groups who want food waiting as boats land.
Richmond Bridge and Richmond Hill
Standard delivery to any address around the bridge, the Hill or Richmond town centre — the busiest spectator side of the finish.
Collection from 16 Ashburnham Road
Ten per cent off every direct collection order, and a booked slot means no queue on our busiest September night.

Looking for an Indian takeaway near you on race day?
If you are searching for places to eat near Ham once the boats are in, we are a five-minute drive from the finish at 16 Ashburnham Road, Richmond TW10 7NF. We are a proper kitchen rather than fast food, but Richmond crews get the same speed: freshly cooked curries, tandoori grills and biryani, ready for collection or delivered to Ham, Petersham, Richmond Hill, Richmond town centre and the Kingston side of the river.
Service runs from 4pm to 10:30pm Sunday to Thursday and to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, so race Saturday is covered late. Collection direct with us takes 10% off, and delivery orders over £40 get £5 off. Pre-booked afternoon drop-offs are arranged by phone or through the form below.
