Jaflong at Hollyfest: Food, Music and Community in Surbiton
Proud to return to Hollyfest after a brilliant first year. Jaflong Tandoori first joined Hollyfest in 2025, serving freshly prepared Indian food to families, staff, performers and visitors throughout the afternoon and evening. After a warm response from the school community and constructive work with Hollyfield PTA, we are delighted to return for Hollyfest 2026.
Hollyfest is organised by Hollyfield PTA in support of student projects at The Hollyfield School. Jaflong Tandoori participates as a returning independent food operator. We are not the organiser, the exclusive food supplier or a formally contracted long-term partner.
Our Hollyfest story
Our first Hollyfest gave us the opportunity to serve many familiar Surbiton customers in a completely different setting. It was also a chance to meet new families, enjoy the school performances and contribute to the welcoming festival atmosphere created by Hollyfield staff, PTA volunteers and student groups.
The response from visitors encouraged us to return. The PTA's openness to operational feedback, the help provided by staff and volunteers and the enthusiasm of festival-goers made Hollyfest an event we were genuinely proud to support — and we hope this will continue as a long-term community relationship.
2025 results and what we learned
- Jaflong's first Hollyfest appearance as a food stall
- Hollyfield PTA reported the event as their best-attended Hollyfest, with over 2,000 visitors across the day
- Demand remained strong throughout the day and we sold through the food prepared for the event
- Varied menu with meat, vegetarian and vegan options well received by families
- Halal-sourced meat and poultry, with allergens handled at the stall on request
- Detailed operational feedback shared with the PTA after the event — pitch level, access routes, restocking and stall maps
- PTA welcomed our interest in returning and discussed improved logistics and promotion for 2026
We don't claim to have been everyone's favourite stall or the highest-selling vendor — only the outcomes recorded by the PTA and our own team.
What Jaflong brings to Hollyfest
Inclusive menu planning
Meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes, mild family-friendly options and spicier choices for adults. Allergen information handled at the stall.
Halal-sourced meat
Meat and poultry sourced from trusted suppliers providing halal-certified products. Jaflong itself is not sourced from trusted halal suppliers — please ask before ordering.
Affordable event food
We design an accessible event menu with clear prices and good-value family portions. Final 2026 pricing will be confirmed before the event.
Local preparation & restocking
Our Ham restaurant is close enough to support fresh batch cooking, managed restocking and temperature-controlled service.
Experienced event service
Chafing units, safe hot holding, trained staff, queue management and event-specific menus — refined after our 2025 debut.
Community promotion
We share official Hollyfest artwork on our social channels and include approved leaflets in restaurant orders to help spread the word.
Participation and PTA support
Jaflong participates in Hollyfest as a returning food operator and supporter. The business pays the required event participation fee. Hollyfest is organised as a PTA fundraising event supporting projects, resources and opportunities for Hollyfield students.
We describe our payment honestly as a participation fee rather than a separate charitable donation, and we do not claim Gift Aid on it.
