What is a butter chicken?

Butter chicken, also called murgh makhani, is tandoori chicken finished in a smooth tomato sauce enriched with butter and cream.

It's milder and richer than tikka masala, and a good choice if you don't like heat.

How we cook it

We finish our chicken in a makhani-style sauce of tomato and dried fenugreek leaves with a velvety cream finish. No nuts go into the sauce.
