Grammar Schools in Kingston Guide

Kingston upon Thames has two selective state grammar schools: Tiffin School for boys on Queen Elizabeth Road and The Tiffin Girls' School on Richmond Road. Both take pupils from across Kingston, Richmond, Surbiton, New Malden and further out, and both select by entrance test in Year 6, with registration opening the previous spring and testing in the autumn term.

We are not an education service and we do not run tuition. We are a family restaurant that has fed a lot of these families for eighteen years — through registration, testing, results, and the celebration dinners at both ends of secondary school. Beyond the two grammars, most families are also looking at the borough's comprehensives — Coombe Boys' and Coombe Girls' in New Malden, Richmond Park Academy and Grey Court in Ham among them. Open evenings cluster in September and October, and the common application deadline for secondary places is 31 October for entry the following September. Always check dates directly with each school and with the local authority, as they move year to year.
